Here you’ll find personal stories of German Wehrmacht soldiers who served in Denmark and Scandinavia during World War II. Some of them were lucky enough to survive throughout the war while others were killed in action.

The stories are based on surviving paybooks (Soldbuch) and documents carried by the soldiers during their service in the Wehrmacht. You will be shown the actual paybooks and documents carried by the individuals featured in these stories.
